What's up with us

As you can see I got bored the other night and decided to post old photos. I love going back and looking at us, younger, skinnier...

So David got a job. It's in Alpine and its customer support. We are pretty excited to have him working again- this means we'll be able to save a lot of extra moolah.

My schedule has also changed. I volunteered to work from 7-3:30 instead of 8-5. Am I crazy? possibly. But I'm already enjoying having an extra hour and a half at the end of the day to spend with Clem, clean my house and make dinner. It's just when my alarm goes off at 6:10 that I feel any regret.

We have a busy month ahead of us. David's parents come tomorrow and stay for a while on their way back up to Wyoming. We're excited for them to go back (and to visit them again this summer and hopefully camp this time). We'll have Easter together and possibly go to conference? That's what David told me last night. I've never been to conference so I'm pretty excited if the rumors are true!

Saturday is Christiana's baby shower. We are so excited for both Justin and her to bring a cute little baby boy into this world. We love them and can't wait to meet the little guy. I planned a yummy menu for the occasion and plan on spending most of Saturday getting everything ready. I can't wait to ooh and ahh over little boy clothes!

Next Tuesday Remy's flying out to spend a few days with us during her spring break. We have already made plans to shop and do a totally sweet photoshoot. I just remembered this picture I took of her a long time ago when she was probably about 6...I posed her on our back lawn at the condo holding a rose...my love of photography started out with cheesy poses and will probably end with cheesy poses. They'll just be taken with a better camera I guess :)

Friday after Remy comes we're all driving down to CA for my little brother's (Kyle) farewell. He's not little though, remember me saying that before? That's because he's like a foot taller than me. Last night I was laying in bed just thinking about this busy month, and his time to leave has really crept up on me. He'll be ready to head into the MTC in two weeks. I kept picturing him in his snake skin cowboy boots or dressed up as a girl (courtesy of me), blond and tiny, like 5 years old. Then I pictured him in a suit in the MTC learning Spanish. There's a gap that I missed once we moved here- the gap was when he grew up and became a man. So I feel like I'm missing some parts that would make him who he is. I don't know if that makes sense, but basically he jumped from a little punk kid to an almost man, and I didn't see it happen.

His farewell is Sunday. Monday we all drive back up here to bring him to the MTC. Will it be weird living in the same town as him for however long and not be able to see him? I don't know. Probably not THAT weird. But at least I can send him goodies! My family will probably stay with us for a few days before they go back home.

At the end of april we're heading back down to CA for David's cousin Blake's wedding. We somehow got chosen to be the photographers (and I protested at first) but it should be fun.

Our next month will be busy but we are definitely going to enjoy it. We LOVE having visitors!

And since this post is so long and boring I will include a photo of what I wish I was eating right now:

We went to the original pancake house in SLC a few months ago with Christiana and feasted on that deliciousness.

  2. Sounds like a fun month ahead. can't wait to see you guys at Blake's wedding. How long are you guys staying for? I was mulling around the idea of getting a babysitter for the wedding- but wanted to make sure you could see the girls.

  3. I really like this post... guess I just like to know what's going on with you guys and what your thoughts are. And now is where I overdo commenting:
    A. I didn't know you were going to be the photog at Blake's wedding- that's awesome!
    B. I wish I was one of the peeps that were coming to visit you.
    C. Getting to work early and leaving early is THE BEST. Don't worry, you'll get used to waking up early... just make sure you get at least 7 hrs of sleep each night lest you become a grumpy beast (if you're anything like me).
    D. I'm pretty jealous of your Saturday... I love planning/organizing things.
    E. I can't wait to see you!
    F. I love you lots and lots.
    G. is for "Geeee you're swell!" ( I just couldn't have the last letter be "F" -it's such an ugly letter)
