we are finally all moved in. the new place is definitely smaller and not as nice as our old place, but they allow dogs and we like the location. we are so grateful to our amazing friends who helped us move. there is no way we could have done it without their help :)
i'll post photos once it's all assembled and also photos from the last few weeks. we are planning on going to wyoming the end of may to visit david's parents, so we are looking forward to that as our next little break.
i am also considering starting a food/recipe blog to log my recipes and give friends ideas on what to make. would anyone benefit from it? let me know.

easter
we got locked out of our house on easter sunday so we were an hour late to dinner with david's family. we brought clementine along with us and she was a hit with the kids, as you can see by the photos :) dinner was good and we spent the rest of the afternoon with david's parents in their 5th wheel and watched family videos again. it was fun to spend the day together with family.
i also wanted to include this one of david because there weren't any of him at dinner, and i took this easter morning when he was showing me how to use a setting on the camera. look at that beard! i think he's planning on growing his hair out even longer...

updates
so sad, i didn't get around to actually dying eggs this year. oh well, we had a good time anyway. I need to still upload our photos from easter sunday with the family.
updates:
david's parents are now in wyoming on their 6 month mission. keep up with them on their blog
we are moving next saturday, the 25th and haven't even started packing yet.
clementine is doing well and she loves to chew and bite anything she can get her mug on.
david made a quick trip to california last week for a root canal and a crown done by his uncle, the dentist. we have such amazing family who take great care of us!
i think we are both ready for good weather so we can go camping and be outside. our new apartment has a big open lawn and a pool so we are looking forward to enjoying those. i also want to get outside so i can practice shooting more with my camera.

the decision
things are going well with clementine. she loves us already :)
the big news is that we've decided to stay in utah. we love california and miss it and our families. it was a hard decision, that we went back and forth on several times, but ultimately the answer was that when i thought about staying here i felt peaceful and when i thought about moving to california i was a stress case. so that was our answer.
we are moving to orem on april 25 to a bit smaller apartment, but it has a balcony and is in a better location. we'll work through the summer and then david will go to university of utah. they have a good engineering program there and he can take trax from sandy to salt lake a few times a week. eventually we'll probably move closer to salt lake, which isn't what we prefer, but we're going to try to finish school and move on with our lives. things are good, we're happy and enjoying life, and looking forward to summer in provo: camping, rafting at the river and getting tan!

our fun night
last night, about 1:40 AM our fire alarm went off in our apartment. i woke up out of a dead sleep scared for my life. we got up and got clothes on and david looked outside, but no one was going out of their apartments...and it was snowing. so we look at eachother, no idea what to do. the noise is ear piercing and super high pitched. david went to listen by the neighbors to see if their alarms were going off too, but he said that they weren't. we figured out it was all of the smoke detectors going off at the same time...but there was no smoke. he finally figured out if he disconnected them from the ceiling that they would stop but he had to do each one. david looked in the spare room and saw our hamster just staring out at us, scared as can be. we moved her into the laundry room where it was quieter. after we figured out how to eliminate the sound, we got back in bed and a little while later david got back up and called his dad. david opened up one of the smoke detectors that was in the dining room and water came out of it...we're assuming that since it was snowing that somehow there must have been a leak or something that tripped the smoke detector wires.
after that we didn't fall asleep for a long, long time. we are so tired today.
