You know I love movies set in times long ago. One of my faves is Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette. I remember seeing the trailer for it before it came out, and it was set to New Order's "Age of Consent" and I couldn't stop watching it. Kings + Queens + fancy dresses and shoes + a soundtrack filled with 80's music and Vivaldi...what a combination. Have you seen it? Do you like it? I own it and watch it every year. Plus Versailles was amazingly gorgeous blew my mind when I visited it and saw where she really lived. It's beyond ridiculous.

  1. I know a lot of people that dislike this movie, but I'm with you and I really like it!! It's so decadent and beautiful, but I think my favorite parts are when she's with her daughter out at her cottage. Everything looks so natural and relaxed.

  2. I love this movie! Everything looks so beautiful. I want to have a tea party or some kind of girly get together, Marie Antoinette style with little petit fours. I like the montage in the movie when Aphex Twin play Avril 14th and all the garden scenes.

  3. I had to keep myself from walking out of the theater during this movie! I was not a fan. But I will say the cinematography is beautiful- that, I liked. And after I went to Versailles I gave it another chance and didn't hate it AS much.
